The Canadian immigration department has invited 606 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canada immigration in a draw conducted April 9. The minimum CRS score for this invitation round reduced by twenty-two (22) points from the last Provincial Nominee Program draw held March 18.
Canada continues to conduct regular draws which removes the uncertainty about the likelihood that Express Entry draw would take place following the implementation of special measure to slow the spread of COVID-19.

In fact, on April 1, Canada’s immigration departments tweeted that Express Entry rounds of invitation are still being held, and confirmed that it is accepting and processing application.
Today’s program-specific draws was the second in less than a month to target provincial nominee program candidates.
Since March 18, IRCC conducted two other program-specific invitation round via the Express Entry system exclusively targeting Canadian Experience Class applicants and those with provincial nominations.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s major source of foreign skilled workers. It manages and controls the profiles of applicants for Canada’s three main Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs — the Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, and Canadian Experience Class.
606 Express Entry Candidates are entered into the Express Entry pool and are ranked according to the CRS score which considers factors such as age, educational qualification, skilled work experience and proficiency in French or English.

A specified number of the highest-ranked applicants are given an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian immigration through regular draws from the Express Entry pool.
Today’s draw is the 8th of 2020 and brings the total number of invitations issued this year to 23,206.
Canada’s immigration ministry used its tie-break rule in this draw and the time and date used was December 18, 2020 at 11:29:51 UTC. This means that all individuals with a CRS score above 698, as well as those individuals with scores of 698 who lodged their profile before this specified time and date, received an ITA in this invitation round.
